The Wedding Process

Step 1 – Let’s talk

You want to find out who you’re (potentially) sharing your big day with and we’ve got a couple of questions for you two, too! (Don’t worry, you already know the answers) Ask us anything, we’re open books and love to help our couples. Phone call, video meeting, or in-person coffee if you’re in the neighborhood are all good with us. At the end of the meeting, you’ll have a much better grasp of the wedding process, our team, our style of visual storytelling and answers to your questions or concerns. Don’t worry, we’ve got you!

Step 2 – It’s official!

After our chat, and coming up with a plan for your big day it’s time for some paperwork. If we haven’t narrowed down the details of what you’ll want in a package for your big day, this is the time to do it. The paperwork covers what’s included, some optional extras, the legal agreement and finally your initial payment and schedule for the balance. Many popular dates book up to a year in advance, so once we complete this part – we’re yours!

Step 3 – The engagement session

Spoiler alert: It’s easier than you think! An engagement session is a fun opportunity for you two to kick-off your upcoming celebration and capture some beautiful photos together. It’s a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera and build confidence leading up to your wedding. The first few minutes will pass quickly and you’ll soon be comfortable, laughing and enjoying the experience! Sessions can take place almost anywhere – where you originally met, a favorite date spot, or spin the wheel and pick something completely different! You might already know – engagement photos can be used to announce your engagement, decorate your wedding website, and help create save-the-dates for your big day.

Step 4 – Step into the time machine…

Putting together a wedding day timeline can seem overwhelming, but that’s why we’re here to help. Know that a timeline is just a guideline and often the events may speed up or slow down depending on how the day is flowing, so keeping some “buffer time” is important. Make sure it’s not too tight that you don’t have any time to enjoy the little moments of the big day. It’s also a good idea to create a backup plan in case of any unforeseen circumstances, such as uncooperative weather.

Step 5 – It’s showtime!

Wedding days are filled with a blur of activity, and time seems to move even faster for some reason. While it can be a bit overwhelming at times, it is important to remember to be in the moment, to soak it all in and enjoy the day. So take a deep breath, let go of any perfectionist tendencies, and embrace the joy and excitement of the day. Remember, your wedding is about the love you have for each other, and as long as you are surrounded by loved ones and have a good time, that is all that matters!

Step 6 – Show me the pictures

After your amazing day we’ll send you a batch of sneak peeks that capture the love & laughter of your wedding day that you can share online if you’d like. Soon after that, in one of the final steps of the wedding process, you’ll receive the rest of your images in a beautiful, private online gallery. We’d like to recommend that you two snuggle up on the couch and enjoy the hundreds and hundreds of photos together on your laptop or tablet – pictures like these need a big screen! The gallery has a built-in store so it’s super easy to order anything from prints to an album or a large canvas prints too!
